CEI Strategies Bring Great Gains
The Center for Educational Improvement (CEI)—a 501(c)3 non-profit—provides school improvement services in the United States and internationally. Last year CEI was the primary school improvement specialist for three schools making large gains. Hospitality High School demonstrated the highest increases in Reading, Math, and Writing of any LEA in Washington DC. At Lincoln West High School, scores in areas of CEI focus (writing) showed dramatic increases and its graduation rate was higher than other schools in Cleveland. At Crittenton Community School in Columbus, Ohioscores jumped up about 20 points from previous years. This year the achievements continue. CEI would love to share the promising strategies that worked at these schools with your school too.
Common Core Transitions
CEI helps schools transition to Common Core. Our advice is to consider vertical alignment, more meaningful class discussion, cross-curricular instruction, and an inquiry-based teaching approach.
International Work
Education is a primary variable for reducing hunger and poverty. CEI has pulled together a team that has extensive experience working abroad in developed and developing countries.
